Today in this world of cut-throat competition where everybody wants to be a topper, how can I afford to score less? I studied too hard to score 95 but my bad luck brought me only 80, is it my fate? I study hard but don’t know what happens when it comes to writing in the exam I flunk. Why me God? My neighbor’s daughter and my son both study in same school, go to same coaching class but why my son struggles to just pass the exams while that girl tops the class always? Does any of these questions sound familiar?
Of course, this is story of one or the other kid in some way. Not only kids but also students doing graduation or even post-graduation face the same issues when it comes to writing the exams and clearing them with distinction. All of us expect to score great after putting in such efforts. Then why only few of us manage to outshine though all of us put in similar efforts in one way or the other?
Firstly, I would like to make it absolutely clear that it has nothing to do with your fate. Your fortune changes every fraction of a second. Then what could be the probable reason for such huge differences in the results?
The difference is in “THINKING”. Do you have any of the following thoughts in your mind when you actually expect to top in the class:
· Please God let her not perform great in the exams, as I want to top.
· If my competitor falls sick, I have a better chance of being a topper this time.
Both the above listed statements show negative emotions in terms of jealousy, inferiority complex, competition. You might be astonished to see competition as a negative emotion. But it’s true. Competition is a negative emotion that comes from the feeling of lack. So just get the theme of competition absolutely out of your mind.
Always remember whatever we think about, we bring about. So if you are thinking about competing you will keep on bringing competition in your life wherever you would go, whatsoever you would choose. That’s why it is really important to think of only those things that we want us to happen.
It is really very easy to score 95 or 99 or even 100 or whatever you aim at. But the catch is you have to be absolutely clear in your mind with what you want. The thoughts and feelings associated with that aim or idea must be positive. You can create a poster or a card and hang it on the wall exactly in front of your bed so that every morning when you get up you are revised with what you actually want. On the poster or card whatever you create you can write:
· I am through to the ABC Test with 95% or 99% or whatever score you want.
· I can clear the test with 88%. It must be believable for you.
· I am capable of getting through to the Chemistry test with 90%.
You can create any message of your own depending on what you want to achieve academically. Whenever you look at that poster or card just smile and feel good thinking asyou have already achieved that score. It works for everyone irrespective of the fact whether you scored well in your last exams or not. Every day is a new beginning. Let’s begin today with this new idea and create an academic record of our own choice.
